Ah my old faithful Beats Studio Headphones. Bargain second hand on eBay and have served me well ever since. Except the cushions are falling, literally, to pieces. It was like being in a snowstorm of grey plastic. The stuff got everywhere.
Why this happened, I have no idea. But it was time to fix it. Stat.
Over to old faithful Amazon.
Less than 24hrs later – here they are
(God I love prime)
You get 2x cushions (obviously), 2x adhesive rings by 3M, and this odd little blue thing, which I presume is for peeling off any old leftover adhesive…(I didn’t use that..)
As per the instructions, off I go to YouTube..
First you need a knife…
(If you are incredibly clumsy like me, you wanna go steady at this part – it may be a butter knife..but still a knife..!)
You jam the knife in. Wiggle. The knife obviously. But you can wiggle ‘yo body if ‘yo feeling faaaaancy.
And the cushion should pop right off.
Remove the leftover adhesive. Mine rolled into a kind of ball.
Next you prep your cushions.
Remove the white label sticker side first (not the logo side)
Line up the holes on the ring with the holes on the cushion, then press it all down.
Next remove the logo label sticker.
To place the cushion onto the headphone, line up the holes on the headphones with the holes on the cushion and press into place. WARNING – this stuff is REALLY sticky so you kind of have one shot at it!
Repeat on the other side. Then you are done!
I now look like some kind of Ronald McDonald outcast. Should have thought my colour choice through a bit more…
Ok they may not be 100% perfect and in some parts they are a little gappy, but they are still comfortable to wear, still do their job properly and took less than 5 minutes to fit!
